ASI Chicago 2025: Reach Customers With Facebook and Instagram Ads

Why Meta Ads Still Matter: Key Takeaways from ASI Chicago 2025

Social media advertising remains one of the most powerful tools for connecting with your ideal audience—and platforms like Meta (Facebook and Instagram) continue to lead the way.

That was the core message delivered by Janet Johnson, a seasoned digital marketing expert and founder of The Janet E. Johnson Agency, during a professional development session on Tuesday, July 22. The talk was part of Education Day at ASI Chicago 2025, where industry pros gathered to share insights on growth and innovation.

What Makes an Ad Work?

  • According to Janet, a great ad has three key parts:
  • A headline that grabs attention and is easy to understand.
  • High-quality images or videos that catch the eye.
  • Short and clear text that explains the main benefit of what you’re offering, plus a strong call-to-action (like “Shop Now” or “Learn More”).

Instead of writing one big chunk of text, break it into bullet points to make it easier to read. Janet also suggested using vertical videos on TikTok—but remember to match the fun and casual style of the platform.

Which Ad Stats Matter Most?

When checking how your ads are doing, Jo said to focus on these numbers:

  • Click-through rate (CTR) – how many people click on your link.
  • Cost per click (CPC) – how much you pay for each click.
  • Cost per lead – how much it costs to get someone interested.
  • Return on ad spend (ROAS) – how much money you make from your ad.
  • Engagement – how many likes, shares, and comments your ad gets.

Be Smart, Keep Testing
The key is to be strategic—don’t just post and hope. Watch the numbers and reuse your content across different platforms to get the most out of it.

Janet’s final advice: “Just start testing. Try one ad campaign this week with $20 or $30 and see what happens!”
